Rockstar Sent Surprise GTA 6 Merch Kits to Top Creators — Here's Everything in the Box
Rockstar is sending surprise GTA 6 care packages to major creators ahead of launch. Here is who got one and exactly what is inside the box.
Rockstar Games has started sending surprise GTA 6 promotional packages to some of the biggest creators in gaming — and the contents are the first real look at the official GTA 6 merchandise collection that has not been bought or leaked, but hand-delivered.
YouTuber TmarTn appears to have been first to show his delivery, posting a video titled “Rockstar Games Sent Me a Surprise GTA 6 Package” in which he says the box arrived from Rockstar with no prior warning. He was not the only one. TheRadBrad confirmed his delivery on X with a photo of the package, KYR SP33DY posted his — notably showing a black Rockstar Games hat — and Hollow uploaded his own unboxing video. KeenGamer's roundup also names xQc among the creators who have publicly shown their deliveries. Rockstar is clearly warming up its creator relationships with just seven weeks to go before launch.
So what is in the box? Multiple outlets have catalogued the contents from the unboxings, and the list is consistent across recipients. According to GTAVice and RockstarINTEL, who broke down TmarTn's box item by item, the delivery arrives in a black box bearing the Rockstar Games logo, accompanied by a small note from the studio. Inside are a blue Rockstar cap with a pink Rockstar Games logo, a “Goodtime State” shirt reading “Greetings from Vice City” — a design similar to the one printed inside the $400 Collector's Box — a GTA VI hologram sticker pack, a Zippo lighter engraved with the VI logo on the front and “Vice City” on the back, and a blue tote bag with the GTA palm-tree VI logo on one side and the classic stacked Grand Theft Auto logo on the other.
The fan reaction has been swift and, for Rockstar, a little awkward. As TheDailyGame reported, fans are loudly comparing the free creator kits to the $399.99 Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, the paid Collector's Box announced last week — and many say they prefer the free kit. The Collector's Box has been divisive since its reveal, largely because its centerpiece is a bright pink cartoon alligator statue and because the box does not include the game itself. One fan called the creator kit “better than the good times collection box they're selling us for €400,” while another wrote, “I WANT THAT MERCH, NOT THE SHIT WE GET IN THE COLLECTION BOX.” Some fans are even 3D printing their own versions of the alligator rather than paying Rockstar's price.
The comparison stings because the influencer kits cost the recipients nothing. Rockstar is effectively demonstrating, for free, that it can produce GTA 6 merchandise people genuinely want — a cap, a tee, a lighter — which makes the $400 price tag on the retail box harder to defend.
But the story goes beyond internet drama. As RockstarINTEL notes, several items in the creator kits match the roughly 56 GTA 6 items that leaked on the Rockstar Store last week, meaning these boxes are effectively an early preview of a merch collection that “will be available to purchase very soon.” GTAVice adds that the timing has sparked speculation the merchandise could soon be available to everyone. And in a separate sign of the marketing machine spinning up, RockstarINTEL reports that shops have begun putting up large posters, and that Rockstar and Miami-Dade county are putting up large-scale GTA 6 signs in downtown Miami.
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The creator kits are another marker on the road to launch — and, if the pattern holds, the first of many marketing beats before November.
