Miami Heat's Vice City Night Gets a Promo Video, a Tagline — and a Giannis Revenge Twist
The Heat dropped a \"Bright lights. Vice City.\" promo video for its Nov 18 GTA 6 night — and the game now doubles as Giannis's first night against his old Bucks, live on ESPN.
The Miami Heat's Vice City night is no longer just a press release. Over the weekend the team rolled out its first real creative asset for the event — a promo video built around the tagline "Bright lights. Vice City." — turning last week's announcement into a full marketing push.
"For one night only, the HEAT trade Miami for Vice City," the clip declares, cutting between neon-soaked palm-lined visuals and the game's aesthetic. It is the first time the Heat have put paid creative behind "A Night in Vice City," the November 18 crossover staged with Rockstar Games the night before Grand Theft Auto 6 launches.
The video arrives with a batch of concrete details the original announcement lacked. The Heat will host the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center at 7 p.m. ET on November 18, with the game airing nationally on ESPN and locally on Local 10. A dedicated hub at HEAT.com/ViceCity is now live, the Court Culture Vice City collection of shirts, hoodies, and hats is already selling in the team store, and the team is promising more reveals in the weeks ahead. The never-before-seen custom court and the all-new uniform remain under wraps — the uniform has not been shown yet.
The Giannis twist
And then there is the basketball storyline the marketing team did not have to invent. November 18 will be Giannis Antetokounmpo's first game against the Milwaukee Bucks since July's blockbuster offseason trade sent the two-time MVP to Miami after 13 seasons in Milwaukee. A former MVP and NBA champion facing the only franchise he had ever played for — on ESPN, on a Vice City court, in a Vice City uniform, the night before GTA 6 ships.
The crossover never needed the basketball to matter. Rockstar's biggest real-world marketing moment is landing on a game that already had a reason to be circled, which all but guarantees the largest possible audience for the launch-eve hype machine.
A loop no ad campaign could buy
There is also a strange symmetry buried in it. The Kaseya Center already appears inside GTA 6, reimagined as the Sahara Arena. So on November 18, the real building will host a real Vice City night while simultaneously existing inside the game as a Vice City venue — the real city and its fictional twin collapsed into the same address for a night.
Forty-four days out, the takeover of Miami keeps escalating: the October 1 "Welcome to Vice City" roof lighting, the downtown signage deal, the mural in Brooklyn — and now a nationally televised NBA game that doubles as Giannis's revenge night and the final billboard before launch.
Grand Theft Auto 6 releases November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
